Committed to Environmental Management and Community Development, Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd. (KEI) succeeded in winning 2023 PROPER Green Award From the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
Jakarta – Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd. (KEI) succeeded in winning the 2022 – 2023 Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) award for green rating from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), at the Birawa Assembly Hall, Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday (December 20th, 2023).
The Green PROPER award was handed over by Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry Alue Dohong to KEI President, Didi Basuki. This event was also attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia K.H. Ma’ruf Amin and Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Sigit Reliantoro. K.H. Ma’ruf Amin hopes that the PROPER award will be able to change the paradigm that corporate social responsibility is not just about sharing, but is an activity oriented towards community empowerment and independence.
Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry Alue Dohong, representing the Minister of Environment and Forestry, also congratulated to companies that have consistently performed environmental excellence in production and services process, as well as carrying out ethical and responsible business towards society.
This award is evidence of KEI’s commitment to protect the environment and sustainability of community development in carrying out operations of oil and gas production in its area. KEI will always strive to continue to protect and preserve the environment and care about community development around KEI’s operational areas.

This achievement of Green PROPER is confirming KEI as one of the oil and gas companies that continues to implement good and sustainable corporate governance under the supervision of SKK Migas, also as an evidence that upstream oil and gas operations are committed to the environment and community development. And it can be an encouragement for KEI to continue in developing innovations to increase environmental preservation, as well as to contribute to the community around the KEI operational areas. This is also in line with the vision and mission as well as the values of SKK Migas.
The PROPER Environmental Award and Environmental Management Performance is an annual routine agenda held by the government for business entrepreneur and other parties who are highly dedicated to environmental management. The Green PROPER rating is given to companies that have exceeded the environmental management criteria set by the government, performed innovation and excellence in environmental preservation as well as positive contributions to community.
